Holiday Shopping Pandemic Style

Like most other things, Black Friday and Small Business Saturday shopping will look much different this year amid the ongoing pandemic. However, skipping the Thanksgiving weekend shopping crowds to slow the spread doesn’t mean the holiday gift list for your loved ones has to suffer. From online deals to gift alternatives, check out the information below for how you can begin to tackle your shopping this weekend.

Black Friday

Several major retailers known to be a one-stop-shop for everyone on your list are doing their part to ensure a safe shopping experience this holiday weekend. Nearly all of Target’s Black Friday deals are available for the entire week, both online and in-store. The company has also expanded its Drive Up and Order Pickup service options. Macy’s announced their Black Friday deals would be available online from November 16 to November 28 while also offering curbside pick up and same-day delivery through DoorDash. Last but not least, Walmart is offering contactless curbside pickup for online Black Friday orders for the first time ever. The retail giant is also implementing “grab and go” merchandise displays throughout its stores and will offer online exclusive deals starting Wednesday, November 25.

Small Business Saturday

Small businesses range from restaurants and bakeries, bookstores and boutiques, and more. This year, Small Business Saturday is more important than ever. Many small businesses are following suit by offering contactless payment and curbside pickup or delivery. Shopping locally benefits everyone. When you shop small, your money goes right back into your community. Many products are locally sourced, so you’re helping the environment by reducing the carbon footprint.
